A. WRITING:
Unit 7:
Where is it?
1.Explain where a place is in a building. I will give you a picture like the one on p.56 in your books.
You must use expressions like “between”, “next to”, “on the left”, “on the right”, on the 1st/2nd floor etc.
2. What are the differences?
Compare two buildings. Tell what the differences.
e.g. In building no.1 the spa is on the 3rd floor next to the elevator. But in building no.2 the spa is on the 1st floor between the Laundromat and bank.
Unit 8.
You must understand the meaning of:
plug in, turn on, open, press, put in, click on, take out, take out, turn off. You will get some multiple choice questions using them.
Unit 9.
Describe your usual day using the expressions on top of p.77.
“Get up” “have breakfast” “leave home” “arrive at work” “arrive at school”” etc.

B. SPEAKING:-
1. You must be able to ask and answer how to get somewhere in a building.
Example:--
Question: Excuse me madam/sir how do you have a doctor’s room in this building?
Answer: Yes you must take the elevator to the 4th floor. The doctor’s room is on your right between the Laundromat and the spa.
2. Answer questions about your normal weekday.
I wake up at 8 o’clock. I get up at 10 o’clock. I take a shower and……..
3. Order food in a restaurant and take an order.
4.Please prepare for a short job interview. Give two strengths and two skills.

Uiduk Conversation Class
I will post what you need to know for you finals next week (after May 31st)
If there are any questions please ask me or use comments section on this page.
There will be no extensions for homework (without written permission) after May 31st.
The following homework was given but a few students have not done it. I cannot give a mark unless it is done. Please complete by the end of the week.
1. You had to say which business you think would do well in Korea and which would not. You can use the examples in the book or choose your own. For example you could say that you think the landromat business would do well because..........Or the Pet shop business would not do well because....
Some gave their own business ideas and this is fine.
2. How to get to Uiduk from where you live.
3. Choose five machines and say how they work using verbs used in the book. (such as take out, switch off, press down, boot up, shut down, etc.
4. Can you cook? If so what can you cook? Have you ever cooked outside (such as barbeque). Do you like making things? Give examples.
5. Choose an article (about 300 words or longer) and make sure you understand ALL the words in it. Make 5 questions about the article and be able to read and discuss it. Students will do this in class at the times below:

Read the article you chose to the class and then answer questions about it.
You should know the contents and understand the vocabulary.
